BIO

The Fad began in the year 2001.  James Doyle, Jay Beiner, Matt McGregor and Davin Solomon started a band while still in high school, before any of them were football heroes.  They called themselves "Death-101" and had only performed once before breaking up.  Skip to a year later, Doyle had been kicked out of college, and Davin was too busy dying out loud, but nobody could tell him.  So Matt, Jay, and Doyle began playing as "The Fad".  The Fad recorded their first demo release at Runaway Studios, and performed live April 28, 2002 for the first time.  Soon after, Tom Malonowski joined the band on lead guitar, filling out the Fad's sound.

In the winter of 2002, The Fad recorded and independantly released "Number 5" at Sapone Studios in Bethpage, NY.  They burnt their own copies and Doyle created the liner notes himself at a copy shop we'll just call Kedex-Finko's.  The summer of 2003 broght The Fad to a new challenge... touring.  But of course it was tough, because Matt and Jay... well, were quitting.  Enter Bill Walsh on Bass and Chris Baltrus on Drums.  The tour was awesome, but the results of the last day would end up on CBS tv.

The cymbals were missing after the van broke down, and basically abandoned on the side of the Belt Parkway.  So instead of accepting used cymbals we bought, Matt chose to sue Tom Malonowski on CBS tv's The People's Court.

Tom by this point had decided to leave The Fad for emo-rock group Brookside, which obviously didn't last.  The Fad was looking at a hallway of closing doors, but Doyle was persistent on playing with this band with people who wanted to play with him, and eventually:  Frankie Camino, Kenny Noble, Chris Katulka, Mike Hegerty and Joe Bove had all "Quit Their Band and Joined The Fad" and they had all quit as well..  But now we've gotten to our current lineup, which in comparison to any other one of The Fad's family is absolutely amazing.  That's honestly all you need to know about The Fad for now.  Listen to our music, com see our shows, sleep with our drummer so he wont quit.
